My Process

As I reflected on how photography can be used as a tool to expose a person, and make visible, and understand others, I considered what is my unique perspective to photography ?
I chose two of my close colleagues, and started conversations with a few questions.

What are defining moments of your life, what personal tools are important to you?

What three communities are you involved in?

What does someone’s room look like? What’s on their walls, what kind of chair do they sit in? How do they live?

How do objects in one’s life reveal parts of their identity?

After having these conversations, the last question really stuck out to me, and led me into my photo series called : exploring identity, a study on individuals and things important to them. Using a variety of still life, collage, and pure portraits, I curated these three books, a part of a series on Finding Identity.
